I found it impossible to find any - they are £400/side from LR. All the breakers have received weekly phone calls from me for 6 months without result.
I have ended up buying 90 sides and shortening them. There are some spot welds to remove - the panels have corner strengthening brackets on the front edges. When these are off, it is a 10 minute job at your local engineering firm (and a £20 note) to have the folds replicated. Overall length needs to be 1315mm. Then, the corner brackets need reattaching (I plan to bond mine in place) and a few holes enlarged or created on the roof side to allow the bolted joint to work. Lastly, a visit to the spray paint man (cost unknown at the moment!) before the job is done. This will mean that you have rear quarter windows - but I dislike the blank panels when viewed from behind. Contact Equicar 4x4. I bought some take-off 110 sides from them and had them shortened by the bodyshop before the sprayed them. Note that if using 110 3 door sides the vertical strengthening pieces are spaced differently so when sides are shortened TGE type trims won't fit. As I found out

How about 88" panels? They do fit.

They do fit, but have domed rivets all over them. Not fitting on a modern vehicle IME. My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Hi Si
Glad they were of use. Wasn't sure if you'd use them, as they had been well used/abused. Cheers Steve |

I'd drill out the domed rivets and spot weld them. By the time you've done that, might just be easier to shorten the 90 panels... My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Champion Steve - there are a few lumps and bumps which the body shop can sort when they get painted. Even brand new vehicles don't have straight USW panels... Very grateful for them old fellow... Ohh another USW build Si?
I tracked down a pair of 88 van sides for peanuts (and indeed you generously offered me your spare set) - they do indeed have domed rivets and rear quarterlights. Hopefully the former will be less obvious on my 'old skool' paint job (Massey Ferguson red). As for the latter, I personally prefer the USW 'blank' look but will be fitting dark tinting film. What colour did you go for Si? Righto, time to put brew and laptop down and get outside spannering. Real trucks don't have spark plugs |
