Wife and I went to see Rocky Horror a few years ago in a town near Munich. Loads of Ex-Pats and us went "appropriately" dressed and fully equipped with rice, water pistols and bog roll. When we got to the theatre, it was 1/2 full with elderly Germans dressed in suits and fur coats. They were obviously clueless about the subject-matter of the show... and transvestite nature of the fans and clearly had no idea what the hell was going on. Best of all, they mostly had the expensive middle rows of seats (not too near the stage and certainly not at the back). After being pelted from all directions with rice, water and bog roll for the first half, most of them went home with PTSD. We didn't waste time moving further forward Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Zed you're in Germany right ?
I don't know how far you are from Bochum but Starlight Express has been running for years there in a specially adapted theatre complete with ramps and tracks for the race scenes. Its supposed to be spectacular and people go from all over the world to see the show. Its reputed to be the definative version. If you're interested that is |

I've seen JCSS several times now. A great musical
The wife saw it years back with Alice Cooper playing Herod. Jammy cow! From what I hear, we will rock you is a good one to see. |

Thanks Rossy
Sounds like a great set up - I would love to go see it in Bochum with the family... but it's 6 hours north from Munich We normally turn left at Cologne to get to the UK - never been that far north in Germany - might fall over the edge However, we are visiting the UK in April (Colchester) and you've given me the idea to take Wifey to a show - loads of Noddy points to be had Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Thanks - would have been convenient. Sucks though, as we would only be there for the Bristol performances. May see if there's something we like in London I like Maldon. I used to do all the pensioner's council gardens round there in my youth - nearly drowned in tea Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Really chaps, you all actually are not only prepared to say you have been to see a musical but are openly admitting to liking such things?sick in the head all of you. Next you will be telling the world how wonderful a weekend at a spa retreat is and that using mosturiser is really manly.
