Parked the 04 Td5 up a few months ago and thought I'd better give it a run. The battery was flat so I jump-started it with the old 200 and all seemed fine except I couldn't hear the fuel pump. Anyway went for a quick run down the road and very little power after a certain ammount of revs plus it wouldn't go over 35-40mph. I would like your opinions as to whether the flat battery and jump-starting has somehow damaged the fuel pump or if the problem lies elsewhere..
Many thanks.. [/b] 04' 90 Td5 CSW.. |

It wouldn't have started if the fuel pump had failed completely.
Can you check the battery with a multimeter, both with the engine running and without? |

The fuel pump is low and high pressure. If the high pressure part fails you will only get up to low revs, about 2200 if I remember correctly. This happened to my TD5 disco, second hand pump fixed the problem. Maybe someone will know of a test you can do. Flat battery and jump starting should not have affected the pump.
