help

hi all ,new to the site and was wondering if anyone can shed light on my problem i have a 2004 110 td5 it cut out the other day and the fault was the pump in the tank ,i have replaced this and now it go,s
BUT the pump is very noisy and is pumping all the time ,if i switch the ignition on it pumps and pumps the noise is very loud ,could this be why my old one burnt out ,thanks for any help

they are aways pumping,even with engine of but igision on,shouldnt be very noisy just a buzzing sound,your lucky yours started after pump replace,changed mine and cant get it to run again

Reg, you will probably have to programme the pump into the ecu.

Darlek, your pump should not pump all the time, should timeout after a few seconds when the ignition is turned on and the engine isnt started. Can you hear a loud hissing noise around the o/s/r wheelarch?
