No. We just took his money. It was a strange sale, he spent about 45 minutes trying to get us to drop the price from £1,800 to £1,750 We didnt like him so we refused. Eventually he paid up
Id bet all my money he wasnt a trader, so what would he gain from getting his hands on the full log book, instead of the little green tear off slip? Last edited by WarPig on 16th Feb 2013 10:14pm. Edited 2 times in total |

I always ask to see proof of name and address so it matches what they are writing on logbook, had a bad experience once

Perhaps we should have asked for ID, but we were happy enough just getting his money. I reckon he was a private buyer wanting to sell the car on for a profit. But who would buy a car from an asian man when the car is registered to an English woman I guess it takes all types!

Not with a name like Warpig
The buyer was asian, he turned up with half his bleedin family. Glad I was there for my 70 yr old mother as she would have been a bit intimidated selling a car on her own with all of them turning up at her door. |

Hi Steve, sold my dads honda HRV a couple of years ago and a trader bought it over the phone for an agreed price. When he turned up he tried haggling with my 75 year old dad until i turned up and told him for every pound he tried to knock off i would add 2 pounds to the asking price . Because he had driven 150 miles with a trailer he got the hint that he wasnt going to get a vunerable pensioner to give him a free car so ended up paying what he originally agreed

Ey up Paul . Cheeky f@@kers arent they I just hope the £50 notes they gave her arent fake! I can see why folk trade their cars in, but the dealer supplying her new Fiesta only offered her £400 for it! We sold it for £1800 in the end.
