Swivel Recovery Eyes or Jate rings
Hello everyone

I have a Defender 110 and I want to buy recovery eyes or jate rings...can you please help me? From where can I buy them (online) and which one is the best?

Wherever you get them from, I would recommend strength-rated, forged jate rings (a smooth rounded one piece design) over welded 3 piece design. They're stronger.

Loads of places to find but hem don't remember where I got mine from, sorry.

Try www.famousfour.co.uk they have some jate rings / swivel recovery points (zinc) etc on there website, not to sure which are the best, no doubt you'll have many replies from this site, goodluck. Cogito ergo sum

Any Land Rover main dealer will be able to supply Genuine JATE Rings - RRC3237 and the correct length and grade of M10 Bolts, Nuts & Washers.

2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
Definately go for the forged type as suggested above, although it wasn't a straightforward job to fit them to the rear of my TD5 & TDCi Defender 90's.

Basically, the fuel tank is very close to the chassis rails, and the lashing rings (where the jate ring bolts go) are fitted before the tank goes in. Meaning, that to get the bolts out you have to cut the heads off (or take the tank out if your into that sort of thing). I used forged jate rings with a thread to accept the bolt with a little less than two threads protruding, and even they were a little closer to the plastic tank than I would have prefered. Be sure to check the bolts don't touch and rub through the tank!!! Also, the LH one doesn't work too well with the fold up rear step.
