Cornwall touring caravan site recommendation,please.
Hi all, we are hopefully taking our caravan down to Cornwall for the first time this year, around the end of July.
Looking online every site location would have you believe they are the best!
What I would really like is some personal recommendations please.
I know we may struggle with availability now for that time of year but we are tied to school holidays with a 8 and 12 year old.
Wife was looking at haven sites but they don't really do anything for me, I would prefer somewhere a bit more private.
Thanks

Pentewan Sands is a good choice if you have children, has a pool, private beach, bar etc

We have booked a fortnight with our tin tent at Polmanter Touring Park at St Ives.

http://polmanter.co.uk

Never been before, in fact ive never been to St Ives, but the site comes highly recommended by a fellow camper. Its another one of those sites that isnt cheap, but some pitches do offer a sea view.

One advantage is their website has an interactive map of the site layout, showing all the pitches. You can book your pitch in advance so you can have a relaxing drive knowing your pitch is reserved for you. I hate driving around a site trying to find a decent pitch before anyone else.

Many thanks all of you.
The polmanter site looks nice, however after looking earlier at the Pentewan sands site that was recommended it looked ideal and has everything we need and a great location with its private beach.
They only had a few pitches left for the week we wanted so went ahead and booked it!!!!
This site is like the polmanter one where you pick your pitch on their map and pre book it.
Looking forward to it now but nervous about the tow vehicle!
Just done a full restoration of my 110 sw in the last 16 months and should be getting its 1st mot in the next couple of weeks after been stood for 5 years.
Hopefully should have any problems sorted by the holiday at the end of July though!!

Works out at about 380 miles from Lincoln to the site, how long do you think it will take? 8-9 hrs was my thought.

That might be an idea, was thinking of setting off about 4am if we can get the kids up! But overnight stop may be better.

Not taking the caravan nor I am going very posh! just the travelodge in the town centre but at £50 for two nights in a family room you don't expect much!
Stopped there before and it's not that bad, great for a cheap few days away and we love the Scarborough and Whitby areas.
