How about switching off the light first. Then once fitted test it... If it works then it's sorted if not. Turn off again reverse the bulb to the correct polarity then turn on again. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I thought I turned the light off (but maybe I didn't) before fitting the Led light but I still managed to blow the fuse.

That won't work as the back plate is permanently live, which is why it's so easy to blow fuses (ask me how I know ). The easiest solution is to put a small square of insulation tape on the backplate before installing the bulb. Mine arrived today, all fitted & working brighter than before.
Didn't blow any fuses. Was this just pure luck ? Killer, Got any pictures of the side lights fitted ? |
