Discussion with the other half has decided on Scotland! Her father lives in Oban so can tie in a trip to visit for a day.
May make a road trip out of it but will prefer to stay in the Oztent where possible. Suggested stops and routes welcome |

We camped at a cracking site at Camusdarrach in October last year check it out in the Cool Camping guide for Scotland.
Only a short walk to some great beaches looking out to Sye, Rum and Eig. Take your own beer cos there aint any pubs. There's plenty to see and the are is steeped im history. Uncas (last of the mucky uns) |

If you really want to experience something different, keep heading north. Ullapool has a nice campsite on the edge of the town, right on the shore of Loch Broom, then drive up the west coast into the GeoPark. Coigach peninsula has amazing scenery, like something out of Lord of The Rings. There's camping at Portabhaigh. Further north, beyond Inchnadamph, the scenery gets even more spectacular. Camping at Scourie. Hang a right at Laxford Bridge and take the single track road through the Reay Forest for great views of Red Deer, carry on along Loch Shin to Lairg (also camping available). Falls of Shin visitor centre to see the salmon leaping up the waterfall. There's so much to see and do, you'd never want to leave!

Wild camping along the river leading up to Loch Etive (off Glencoe) , also stayed at a nice one 1/2 way up Loch Leven on th south side, mentioned in the cool camping guide, but due to a misprint the 'pub in walking distance' related to one in Wales Nice views down the Loch and otters .
Seal Shore on Arran also nice, sea views and seals - great local produce at the local butchers and stops. Not camping I know but the fish shop round by the ferry on Ullapool key does some awesome sandwiches - highly recommend the hot smoked salmon ones Have a great time, its a great place to stay for a while.
