FS Unimog! Needs a little love... SOLD
Something slightly different and I'm sure not everyone's cup of tea.

I've got an old 404 taking up space and its so far down my list of projects I will let it go.

If you know 404s it should be fairly obvious what it is.

If not these are great bits of kit, very different to any Land Rover forward control. Nice solid chassis with portals axles fairly spacious cab and a great big load bed.

I bought this one a long time ago with a seized engine. No probs, everyone says the car 2.8 drops straight in to replace the 2.2. Does it hell Big Cry

It's in and turns over but needs carb fitting, exhaust, cooling, ignition sorting etc etc. lots of bits are there and I don't think much needs buying, just time spending on it.

Chassis is solid, body is good with minor rust at front of cab. It may want new wood on the load bed and the canvas for the cab is possibly perished by now.

The tyres where good but have perished over time. It has been under cover with me for at least 12 years.

There is a reg number but no v5, will need applying for.

Value? Well there is a set of portal axles with diff locks that could be used (with work) under a Land Rover.

I'm open to offers around SOLD Crying or Very sad

Or I'm after a Bedford RL if anyone knows of one taking up space?!

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

Close on the Major, the one in shot is a normal Major, new to the farm in '64 from memory. Unrestored and on the lever it's a lovely lovely machine and now only comes out in the summer.

Behind it (out of shot) is a Super Major, with a Cookes forestry winch. That's a toy Wink

In another barn is a Major bitsa with a Ford 6 pot in it. Tatty and held together by luck but it does wheelie well Whistle

I have a real soft spot for Majors, my goal one day is a Roadless

When the neighbour used to get the contractor in ploughing with his Triple D it was worth a hike across the fields to see it, the last year he did it there was a treat as the dealers sent out a newer one based on two 5000's but I think the bloke went for a Muir Hill instead(another on the wish list Whistle )

In case people were wondering what a triple doe was, here's one I snapped earlier (I would like to say it was mine but my collection is all MF based!)
