Faultmate - Fuel pump calibration and injector learn failure
Hi

I have recently bought a Faultmate MSV-2 so I can be a little more self sufficient. So far not working out so well Embarassed

I have been trying to do an injector learn with the engine nice an warm. It just goes through the cycle 'engine off', 'engine on' quite a few times and then throws an error. I now have a P167B fault code indicating it needs an injector learn (really!)

So, decided to try a pump learn as this could also be the source of the issues. That failed with another error as below and I now have a P268B error. .. Pump calibration needed!

Why won't either of these work ? Some advice please.

Thanks. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Looking at the screenshot you are running version 1.29 of VE. V1.33 is the latest version so I would update the server modules to V1.33 and try again. Thumbs Up

I found that the PCL cycle would not complete when using Internet Explorer 8 or newer. I then used my other laptop running IE7 and the cycle completed. Also physically check that module SM133 is showing V 1.33 on the MSV firmware.

I'm using a MacBook Pro with a parallels instance of xp 64bit and ie6. I'm thinking I may need to run from a PC directly. I may have to invest in an old toughbook. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

I too have had issues with pump cal using faultmate which I've never really got to the bottom of. I can't remember the exact fault message (similar to the screenshot above though), but although faultmate threw up the error the pump cal was successfully done.

I've also found that usually after doing the pump cal apparently successfully the "pump calibration not carried out" DTC will appear and need clearing two or three times (but without doing the cal again).

It all seems a bit unpredictable and unstisfactory, and I would dearly like to know how the process really works and what the ECU software is actually doing.

I got rid of my faultmate hated it and very expensive if you need to cover many models. The guy Chris?! talks a good game but the customer service was terrible i had errors like this on a weekly basis that would make you pull your hair out Neutral and i've had them all genuine testbook, IDS, MSV, Autologic, old nanocom, snap on...Im on autologic now and have a few others, but for back-up, training and customer service its hard to beat.
