f in A.
so after 2 yrs of being pretty damn sure something isn't right and serveral trips and moans to the dealer.....(oh and various warranty work along the way) the input shaft gets replaced .......thought that might have sorted things but no. within the week I'm convinced things aren't right. another call to LR customer care. they suggest I take the car to a dealer over at coventry how have plenty of experience - so off I trundle and hey presto a clean bill of health...... I get back from work tonight convinced things aren't right.......so a brief look underneath reveals a pool of nice clean oil .....like I say a brief look but it would appear to be g.box area. LRA are on there way but I'm getting really peeved off with this now..... any suggestions? |

As DJ suggests......or......
Write down all your troubles and woes together with any other pertinant points (work/days/appointments lost, time spent chasing solutions going to dealers etc.). Back it up with all relevant paperwork and send the lot to Land Rover Customer Services recorded delivery giving them a specific amount of time to get ther act together and to tell you what they are going to do about it and how are they going to recompense you for all your troubles? Good luck..... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I reckon if they just replace the g.box, transfer box, props axles, diffs, shell and chassis it'll be fine.......
how difficult can it be |

You have given the dealer/s enough chance to get it right, do what K9 suggests, be firm, be polite but leave them in no doubt that you have reached the end of your patience. For the price of a stamp and recorded delivery it's worth a go. Steve.

It most certainly is! I had a recent incident whereupon I challenged the dealer's decision through LR Customer Care. I cannot go into details but whilst not addressing the issue I had specifically, an 'honourable agreement' was brokered with the offer of a free servicing that I actually came out 'on top' from a financial perspective, I was more than happy with their attitude and resolution. Don't ask! Don't get! Be firm, without any direct threats, keep calm and polite and make them sympathise with your plight. They will undoubtedly help you out, or maybe meet you half way perhaps? Especially if you have a history of being a Land Rover customer as I'm sure you have. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! LR customer care will be calling in the not too distant future......
so will ask them for a copy of all the works they've done.........and I might mention the reason - unfit for purpose and seeking professional advice unless they want to make me an offer? |

I wouldn't!!!! As tempting as it may be to threaten with legal representation to cajole them into getting what you want, try to get them on-side and to sympathise with your predicament and gross disappointment in what should be an 'excellent product with such a great long heritage!' Blowing a bit of sunshine up their crimpers along with giving them the opportunity to sort this on their own intuition without them having to adopt a defensive stance should hopefully reap you more reward. If they understand clearly how disappointed you are you do not need to remind them of your intentions to seek resolution no matter what. Good luck.... oh ok..
nice Mr LRA has just been out and has re-assured me that a new gasket and a bit of oil as I suggested won't be fixing the problem. he mentioned something about being able to poke his pen into the gearbox through a wee hole now the fun begins. service dept is closed til the new year ! I'm not sure if I'm relieved or completely and utterly P!ved off ? 2 f ing years to get this sorted and I don't know how many trips to dealers to tell me everything is fine sir ! ... I'm just glad there's not a 'hangman' emoticon.... |

I agree with K9F and MOG, firm but polite is the way to go
When I had problems with my original 110 I stated all the facts to LR but did not threaten legal action etc. It took a while, lots of letters via recorded delivery - do NOT use email as they tend to ignore it - in the end they replaced the vehicle plus a nice extra Good luck.
