Day time telly
I'm having a few hours of peace today after being the sole parent over the last fortnight for my two boys and a new serial has just started on BBC1 called Privates. This is supposedly following the last batch of conscripts doing their National Service in 1960. It was just on and I was mildly curious to see what my step father did when he was younger.
Must admit after 5 minutes I've zoned out, the transport pulls up at the barracks and a nice Series IIa drives across the parade ground but it's the Pinzgauer, a couple of Wolf's and some 110's facing towards the camera allthough out of focus were instantly recognisable. Now all I'm going to be doing is fault picking for the rest of the programme Rolling Eyes

They have daytime tv now - whatever happened to

Shocked Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

Last week I had to “house-sit” in my daughter’s new apartment waiting for some furniture to be delivered, nothing to do but watch day-time television…

I bought two diamond rings and a watch, took out private health insurance, claimed for an accident I had twenty years ago, sponsored two donkeys and an elephant, bought a Burmese and a Romanian baby, and will in future provide water in an African village for two quid a week (damn sight cheaper than I pay Anglian Water for my house).

The telly is usually on to provide a background noise and to try and amuse my eldest who is autistic. One thing that does not happen in this house is any of the soaps. You'd be surprised how entertaining for a lonely old git like me watching Batman with Adam West especially looking at Catwoman in her outfit without the innocence of childhood Whistle no wonder my old man allways wanted to watch it when I was a kid Rolling Eyes
@ Birdy, god help you when you're on ebay Shocked

It only costs two quid to adopt a kid but costs three for a donkey or tiger!

I'm sure many of us with the advantage of hindsight would stretch to paying the extra pound Whistle
