Had a 2.4 for 3 years and 80k miles and now got a 2.2 and had it just over a year and done 28k miles. Do lots of off road driving and pulling of trailers, also do lots of road work too. Both vehicles have been 110 double cabs. Overall I can't really tell any difference between them both. The 2.2 is better on the motorway but that is due to the speed limiter being higher, I found the speed limiter on the 2.4 frustrating when over taking.

i had a 2.4 and now have a 2.2. only difference i find is the 2.2 is quieter and more refined. do a search for some more detailed topics about this.

i find the 2.2 throttle response much harder to work with off road than the 2.4. on road 2.2 quieter. Cheers

Had a 2.4 for 5 years and 80.000 km and now got a 2.2 and had it just over a year and done 23.000 km. I think a 2,2 is much better, gear changing, quiter. I will newer buy 2,4 again.
