to run out three times - wow thats going well! is that the vehicle going to limp mode (ie on a puma) or stopping dead as there is nothing in it?
normally you can get more in them from empty as you have filler neck plus filter etc. ones i have fitted and filled have tkane the 75L, maybe as ^^^ the pickup isint all the way down. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I was not aware that there was a position for the fuel pick up so maybe the problem . Each of the 3 times i expected to get much farther up the road , i expect it was limp home mode as it was 20mph and kangarooing to the station but for sure out of fuel and only 70L

It's been donkeys years since I ran out of fuel, I never let any of mine run down low enough to get the fuel light to kick in, on the other hand the missus makes a habit of driving on air half the time - drives me nuts! Steve.

72.94L is the most i have put in mine with a std tank, it was running fine at that point with the light on. its done over 70L several times too, never gone to spluttering etc. Cheers

LOW FUEL INDICATION AND RUN DRY STRATEGY
the run-dry strategy is used to maintain the systems fuel prime at fuel run out. It ensures the minimum amount of fuel is always left in the swirl pot. The instrument cluster activates the yellow low fuel warning light (nex to fuel gauge) with 17% of fuel remaining in the tank. The fuel gauge will indicate empty with 12% of fuel left in the tank. With 6 lit. left in the tank the run-dry strategy will be invoked. An engine mis-fire will be induced for approximatly 1 mile after which the engine will be shut down. The engine can be re-started in mis-fire mode and will continue to run for a further mile until the engine shuts down again. This can be repeated until the fuel suction port in the takn is uncovered and causes engine fuel starvation and loss of prime. Re-starts after run-dry shut down are not recommended. So after yellow light refil in 50 km. This is for 2012 Puma and similar for 2007-2013 Best regards BOŠTJAN SLOVENIA Cerknica lake 90 td5 2000 110 2,2 2012 |
