There is this guy in Germany ... could only find the one picture ... Somewhere there is a write up with pics on how he did it ... too bad I can't find it again

No need to fiddle about with such programs now as I can see what it looks like in the flesh. I'm very tempted to convert mine altough there may not be enough room for what I want. I think the sensible idea would be to buy a double cab, but where's the fun in having something standard! Thanks again, Dave |

I think you will struggle to do the work on a Hi-cap as the tub and cab are separate items. For it to work you would either have to extend your chassis or chop the tub..... which then starts to reduce it's ability to be a Hi-capacity..... more of a Regular-capacity. If that makes sense? For more pictures google 'Land Rover King cab' (that is what they are known as in UK..... One of them is actually a 110 Hi-cap

I've had a think about this already, for me the fact that the cab and the rear tub are separate would make it easier. I've had the hi-cap for a while now and have failed to fill the back of it yet. You must remember that the width of the rear body is greater than the regular body and this aids capacity, losing a bit at the front would suit I think. I've had a look in the back of a double cab (what Land Rover calls them) and with the spare tyre especially theres not much room at all. The work holds no fear for me, but probably haven't got the time at the moment and may well affect the resale. 130 hi cap would be the business but I think the missus would baulk at dropping the kids at school in it!
