2 years in and the missus still refuses to drive it!
Today marks the second anniversary of Defender ownership.. Bow down Not exactly long compared to most folk on here I know.

From this nice clean truck collected in the snow from Somerset back at the end of 2010

Two years and 25k miles or so later on, mostly on the round trip work commute and pottering around the Bucks back roads we end up at this :-

Id love to be able to wax lyrical about some great overland adventure or how I single handedly managed to clear the M40 of jack-knifed artics but alas not. just mundane day to day pottering around to and from work, weekend junior football team transport + garden workhorse and a bit of helping out local folk during the bad weather.

Have had a couple of opportunities to take her off the tarmac though.

Looking forward to doing a few more trips in the future. Very Happy

The only exterior mods in the past two years are the addition of a soft A bar+spots and a switch from the TRs to ATs. Other bits and bobs have been added/removed/replaced, underneath, in the cab or to the engine.

Overall, the last two years have been great fun, even if 99.9% of the time is spent on the tarmac in a rather mundane way. Its been great to meet a few forum members and look forward to meeting a few more in the not too distant future. Thankyou to all those that have helped me either directly or indirectly through their postings. A rebuild on a galvy chassis is still a pipe dream given my current skills but who knows one day perhaps.

My best claim to fame.. wifey still refuses to drive it !

Merry Christmas all Thumbs Up

 Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Party monkey,

My Defender use seems very similiar to yours, with some towing work involved.

I've had my Defender since 2007 and my wife is on the insurance but she still won't drive it! I think she does it on purpose so I have to drive and she can drink! Rolling Eyes

My wife can't drive - she's happy just sitting in it with her wellies on her feet and the dogs in the back Mr. Green Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Why would you want your wife driving your car anyway. If she wants to drive she can get her own!

Thanks for the comments on the truck Thumbs Up Really should keep it a bit cleaner I guess. Embarassed

Don't think refusal to drive the 110 is quite grounds for divorce just yet...... It's just a constant source of amusement to me how adamant she is she'll never drive it. Still, her loss, my gain Smile

Stealing my chocolate raisins, however, is a whole different story........ Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
