The LR "anti-theft system" has its own Control Unit but yes it also connects to the main Engine Control Module.
I think it might be expensive to install the LR one as a retro-fit. You are probably better off getting a good third party unit such as this one: http://www.cliffordalarm.co.uk/productdeta...=4&b=2 |

Assuming you're going to use a Td5 loom, if so alarm won't be a problem. If using a 300tdi era wiring loom, then its not a problem either. I have a 50th annivesrary bulkhead loom, which is a v8 300 series loom. I have up graded the allarm box to one which works cental locking as well, using Td5 wiring extracted fom a Td5 bulkhead loom.

I have the main TD5 bulkhead loom but without ECU wiring. Everything else is complete. I haven't priced up the alarm from LR so that alone could make my mind up, but then the link above is for a £500 system itself.
It sounds like it's doable anyway, so that points me in the right direction, thanks for the help. One life - get one. |
