Full Service
Hi Guys, my new car has no service history It has 85000km on the clock and I know it just had an oil change, but thats all. Does anyone know what I should change at this point, if I assume that nothing much has been changed before?

This is for a 208 Puma 110.

Are there any guides for novices or should I just send it to LR and let them charge me 500 quid for a one off full service?

Depends what you are like with a spanner.

I always service any car I get even if the previous owner says he has done it. That way you get to know the vehicle, and are sure the correct fluids are in it instead of cheapo rubbish.

I would do the whole lot (engine, diffs, g-box, t-box and brake fluid.). Whilst you are there just check for any leaks, rubs, disks and pads or just anything that doesn't look right or is loose.

The service schedule is on TOPIx so is good guide where to start (but don't limit yourself to just that).

For a service you don't have to be great at knowing an engine. Just need to know the processes. This can be learnt from the net- I think Youtube now has a load of videos that take you through the processes.

Not forgetting.... Here- many of us do our own work on trucks so if you get stuck just pop up a thread and I am sure people will be falling over each other to answer Very Happy

Here is the Service schedule:

Looks very doable. I just spoke to the local stealer, the 80000km service is 600 euros - 3 hours work.

I think I need to learn how to do this Smile Just a bit worried about those difficult filling caps to get to...

Where can I get one of those oil pumping thingies?
