Pipercross or ITG
Filters revisited - any new members/info?

I have to replace my paper filter and I'm looking at alternatives. I'm also souping up the 110 so might need a bit more air...

Assuming I'm leaving K&N out of it, please can anyone give me some advice re. Pipercross vs. ITG air filters?
I'm not expecting mpg/power gains from the filter alone and I'm not worried about the MAF (I carry a spare).
I'm just asking about build and filtration quality and ease of maintenance.

Cheers for any advice Thumbs Up

Slightly OT, I was wondering if these filters make a noticeable difference over an OEM filter? BM52

I have been running iTg for 3 years no with no MAF problems (I have said it now Rolling Eyes ). I don't know about any possible improvement as I have done loads more mods to the engine to.

I would recommend (I have used mine from -30 deg in the Austria 0deg in wet UK to +50deg in dry dusty conditions out here).

Paper will be no different to cotton or foam in a standard Defender. Even with engine and exhaust mods the difference will be negligible.

Zed,
one day when I was really bored and wondering whether to fit a K&N filter I ventured a search. Many Pandoras boxes and cans of worms later it seems the standard paper one can handle way more than it will ever encounter in a Puma so save your bundesbank euros for the next Greek bailout Laughing

Not cheap! Got one fitted to mine and for an extra couple of horses and a nice induction noise would recommend it, it's not unlike a K & N you need never buy another;

Linky thingy:

Cheers Glyn and Mal - I trust your judgement and going for an ITG.

Rossy - thanks, and I'm avoiding K&N as suggested. Concerning bailouts, I'm bolting as much wealth as possible onto the 110, so Frau Merkel will have to catch me first Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
