My td5 dcpu my04 is behaving badly The flasher isnt working, dipped headlights are dim and i mean candlelight dim, the dashboard lights keep blowing out and the side lights keep blowing. Ive also got rough running problems. Running on less cylinders etc. maf sensor unplugged made a difference but drank fuel like no tomorrow so cleaned and replugged. Turbo sqeals occasionally, have got a new one to replace. Any ideas? Cheers wil |

Yup, checked the ecu, no oil, i clean it now and again and have changed harness. I keep getting side lights going and towing electrics play around. One thing is, the flash doesnt work and i was wondering if that could be something? Ill have to take the dash out and have a look me thinks.

Try extra earths with jump leads, battery to bulkhead, battery to earth point under seat box etc, if it improves things either clean up existing earths or add new ones in inaccessible.

Check the wiring that runs through the wings, when i say check i mean unplug from head lights, horn, side lights etc and pull the loom through. You may well find that the loom has chaffed through, this is getting more and more common on older TD5s 1990 Defender 110 200TDI Camper - now converted to Td5 power
