EML FAULT ????
Hello, I am new in the forum

I have a 110CSW Defender bought in June 2007 and I have a strange problem , when I fill the fuell tank , the EML light appear and canno't be reseted except by the dealer.

It's been back to the dealer 4 times already for EML problems.

When the light comes on, the engine power is ok and I don't have any problem except the light of the EML

Last time the Dealer has changed the flowmeter but when I fill again the tank , the EML fault appear again and the fault code was P11-03-00

Air Floweter in the range but more high than previous.

If any one can help me ?

I've not heard of this one before.

Does it only happen when you fill the tank right to the top?

Welcome to the forum, by the way. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

P11-03-00: Air Floweter in the range but more high than previous.

Normally is a code related to the EGR Valve (when doesn't open, mass flow read more airflow than expected).

I understood now what is the sender unit.
I don'think , it is a problem of sender unit because if any problem appear I will have a fault with error code.
As I know when there is a problem of fuel is only when the tank shall be empty (10 liters) the low fuel lamp tank appear after when the tank reach 7.5 liter the fuel indicator is in position 0.
When it reach 4.5 liter the ECU start to make motor problem for 1 mile and stop the motor after that.
I am thinking about a problem of air entrance from the gas cap.May be I have a problem with the event pipe ??

Hi Marco....,
The sender unit is connected to the lamp on the dash and subsequently to the electronics ECU,etc.
The fuel level anomaly would indicate a possible problem with the float, resistance in relation to the fullness of the tank.
Worth investigating even though the fault diagnosis error is different.
Suggest to your dealer!

Warm regards

Hi Marcoegyptos,
No need to dismantle the tank as the sender connections can be approached for inspection from the top.
It may be that the error you experience may not be registering. But it seems that maybe if it's a problem with fuel volume and the light coming on - the sender potentiometer may not be functioning satisfactorily.
Worth your dealer having a look!

I get the code frequently, I bought a reader / reset tool but it is always the same code. My EGR is blanked, but I had the problem before then. I put it down to the ITG air filter. No tune, but bigger intercooler, de-cat exhaust and ITG.

I use this http://www.scangauge.com/features/scantool...4wod5HwDKw
to read and reset.

I would say though that I only turn the light on when taking it steady Shocked If I hoon around like a madman it never truns on!

Thanks for the informations
This fault , I got from 2007 (500kms), in 2008 I tuned the DEF and added a big intercooler, I still have the same problem.
Last month I bought a FAULTMATE MSV-2 for reseting the fault.
I think as I read in the forum I will blank the EGR but I will add an opening to keep the air flowmeter running
