I am going to sell my 100” bitsa ‘series 2a’ as I do not have the time to justify keeping it, plus it’s too tall for the garage and there’s not enough room on the drive.
It was built a long time ago as a rally raid style truck, and I’m told its ‘old school’ as it has front suspension on the rear with hockey sticks and shocks through the centre of the coils. I have a receipt somewhere from Arrow Services for the chassis, it has been registered in this guise for many years and so now genuinely enjoys tax free status, and fully comp insurance with restricted mileage with all modifications declared is less than £100. I bought it as incomplete and rebuilt it several years ago and used it as daily transport for 6 years, up and down to France etc. Engine 200tdi, high turbo, tweaked fuelling and boost, huge alloy intercooler, new rad, new starter, electric fans with X eng switch and silicon hoses. Stainless snorkel. 3” stainless exhaust system, recent steering box. LT77 gearbox (recon when built), Disco Xfer box, disc brakes all round. Detroit locker in the rear, Truetrac lsd in the front. QT front radius arms, drilled rear arms, polybushed all round. Alloy wheels and mud tyres (spare unused) plus wheel spacers for improved lock and looks. Front Husky winch with 6hp Bowmotor and wireless remote. Winch bumper and diff guard in one. Rear Anderson socket for rear winch (not supplied) or jump leads, battery switches for both. Rear detachable tow bar. Front tow jaw. Side bars and there is a roll hoop / load guard supplied but is not fitted at present Crystal headlights, spots, toad alarm and central locking, CB, stereo c/d fitted but cd not working at present. Nice comfy seats plus 1 sideways bucket in the rear. 12V socket, ‘tomb raider style’ tread plate centre dash Bad bits. Ally corrosion on screen blocks, and panel edges, paint is tatty, door hinges rusty, interior trim a bit used, it all wants tidying and waxoiling for a good few more years service. (Chassis was steamed, de-oxed and painted this summer) It’s a real hoot to drive, pretty quick, handles well, green lanes well, and I’ll be sad to see it go. Some spares incl. Realistic offers around £4200 please Thanks to CFB pictures added, also there is the one piece sound proofing kit, full tread plate rear floor and arches, sides are ply lined and insulated behind..... AND phone blue tooth...... did I mention removable tow bar??
