In front of me have two raid bosses both marked Land Rover Defender, one 17mm the other 19mm. The leaflets says 38 splines I think solution will be remove steering wheel and try them. Was just hoping for something simple like a pre or post date Brendan |

48 spline is the smaller hole of the two so out of them i would say the 17mm is that one mate CSK Automotive

Brendan
The instructions that came with the two bosses for my Raid wheel said something like 17 and 19mm and both 38 splines. The number of splines is wrong, the one fitted to my 110 is certainly 48 splines. Steering wheel spline count differed on Land Rover / Defenders until 'about' 2008 dependant on the 'trim' spec.
If you had a 'County' spec vehicle you would have a 36 spline wheel and if it were a lower spec it would be 48 spline. From late 2007 / 2008 (there isn't a definitive date - it was when they ran out of steering columns) they switched to entirely 48 spline. Therefore if you had a base spec 300Tdi and fancied an XS leather steering wheel you (until the Puma came out) had to change the steering column |
