Dynachip Remap
Anybody ever used Mike from Dynachip for a remap??

I did have have him do my D2 td5 when I had it

Thinking about using him again as he done a mates Puma 110

Before remap he used to get 380 miles before the fuel light came on

Now its 450 miles even when towing a heavy trailer Thumbs Up

Any other mappers get this kind of mileage?? Chris

Best to shell out and buy a reputable map, do a search and see what is and isn't recommended....

Loads and loads of threads on here. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Mike from Dynachip was amazing, I've had my TD5 for two years and to be honest I was disappoited with it. It was slugish, constantly changing down on hills, hated towing the boat, just sad really. There had to be something wrong altough 2 garages couldn't find anything apart from changing the fuel pump. which we did, TWICE, with no improvement!

So when I looked into remapping, I didn't fancy sending the ECU away (can't be without my car) and finding out that I was looking to spend £400 plus, I was a bit put off. Then I read about Dynachip on a forum.

Dynachip comes to you. Mike travels around the country and does an excellent job on your drive!

I rang him up and left a message, within 15 mins he had called me back and made an appointment. On the day Mike turned up at the correct time. Put a nanocomm on the car, then a main Landrover computer and within 15mins diagnosed my problem, turned out to be the mass air switch. He disconnected it, srtaight away there was a change in the vehicle. Then he re-mapped it. The change was awsome, Now the car is a pleasure to drive, I have since replaced the faulty part.

The fuel economy is better cos I'm not flooring it all the time just to do a normal speed. The power is there to drive like a normal car, no over reving, no changing down on hills I can drop down to 30mph and still stay in 5th! There is always more power, it 's a differant vehicle.

I would totally recommend Dynachip and at a cost of £225.00 (no vat) it was money VERY WELL SPENT!

Having done a lot of resesarch in the last year regarding remaps I came down to two names. Alive and BAS. Both have brilliant reputations and service.... They are not the cheapest but their remaps are well worth it.


I would not chance my pride and joy with anyone else.i

Thumbs Up I too have a reputable map from a company that has been in the game for many years and provides for many top marques of vehicle, but not from either of the above, and not as 'flexible' with regards to 'switchability' as them. Nevertheless despite a glitch with a Land Rover software update (Q068) that made my map incompatible with the ECU for a couple of months until they 'ironed out the gremlins' it too was money well spent and has given me great service for nearly four years. Were I not committed to mine prior to joining the forum I too would undoubtedly have gone with either BAS or Alive.

OK chaps,

I will have a remap done next year as funds are tight at the min.

It wont be another Dynachip but will use a proper mapper

But who yet I am not sure Question May go for a larger intercooler as do a fair amount of towing & intend to keep my puma till I drop dead & want it done well Thumbs Up

I bought one of their modules for my previous motor but never bothered to fit it. Its now in a cupboard somewhere.

But after seeing all the advice and info from Alive and BAS plus all the other threads on tuning I'm now totally confused about whats best. Its too far for me to go to York or Grimsby and no way Jose am I ripping out the ECU and popping it in the post - I think I'd be more confident removing a kidney ! Then there's this Atric thing from Alive where you plug it in and do stuff - back to the kidney comparison I think. So I'll just stick to changing oil, fixing leaks and snailing around in standard tune ( which is fast enough for me to be honest ) although I'm still amazed at the technical know how of the above 2 tuning companies. Its definately rocket science - maybe harder Laughing

Can't they all do that? The reason I ask is mine will pull 5th at 30mph no problem, even on an incline. It hasn't been re-mapped (as far as I'm aware). It's a 1999 so no CAT, could that be the difference?

Has anyone got any figures for power gains in bhp or Nm torque? Be interesting to see what the different "stages" offer.
