How good are you with electronics?

You could build an interface board to take a signal from the engine temperature sender (or a 2nd one if this would interfere with the ECU) and convert it to drive the Tdci gauge. Or take the feed from the ECU's output, but modify it to drive the TDCI gauge.

Or rip the internals of the gauge out, fit a stepper motor, and build a driver to output the ECU's reading onto the gauge.
