The other day after five weeks in the 110, ( packed with wife, 3 kids and the aupair and transversing the old yugoslavia) my wife and I went grocery shopping...upon returning back to the defender, her first words were, damn, I just love it!
And she was serious! glad we didn't get another volvo. 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately) IN the hunt for another Puma for the wifey! 2008 Kia Sorento LX ๐ 2.5crdi |

Well driving a Subaru Liberty wagon is a bit different to the Defender so SWMBO has a slightly different perspective....never-the-less when she gets behind the wheel of the Defender she waves to fellow sufferers. Mahn

My wife learned how to drive in a Defender 110 tdi and never drove anything else until the Puma arrived last year. Loves them both but has not given up squatters rights on the Puma since it arrived. She would not be able to cope with a "normal" car she says. Now that is lucky! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Same here. I also notice that my wife developes a bit of attitude when driving it compared to our Passat. A kind of "get out of my way" type thing which I think is funny. 1963 Series 2A truck cab 2008 110 SW |

My wife has transitioned through amusement, acceptance, attachment and now loves the 110. She doesn't want to drive it (bit of a beast) but has decided to chop in her VW for a Freelander 2 so she's obviously got the LR bug One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

my wife always complains when other defender drivers (male) don't wave, but she gets very excited when other female defender drivers wave - its funny noticing the difference, with the blokes its usually just a little wave, or finger lifted of the wheel, with the women its both hands waving !

Mine didn't like it in the beginning.. but although she says she likes it, not really sure if she's truely up front with me.. she still thinks she would prefer something less Defender looking.. anyway, she has driven it, and get's along with it OK.. but still not sure.. I'll ask here again..
She didn't say that it worked well for us on vacation this year.. and this made me a happy camper.. She get's a laugh out of the way other Defender drivers wave at each other.. my kids are always looking for other Defenders to show me.. she doesn't.. but then again she's.. my wife.. I was a bit put off the other day.. I saw a convoy of UK and Italian based Defenders set up of safaring coming up my road to cross my village, and I wanted to wave.. but then realized that I was in the rental car LR gave me while mine was int eh shop.. I was .. Last night I saw my neighbor driving his LR 110 threw the village as I was arriving, and he didn't see me.. I have to get my 110 back tonight.. While on a bike back in the states, it just seemed like an autoreponse... 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately) IN the hunt for another Puma for the wifey! 2008 Kia Sorento LX ๐ 2.5crdi |
