You've removed the plastic wheel arch right? Steve.

When you say the plastic arch do you mean the inner plastic arch or the eyebrow? I have the eyebrow out, but not the inner arch. I was trying to do it whilst leaving that in place if at all possible...

I wouldn't be surprised if you don't have to remove the inner arch plastic too for access. Probably not what you want to hear but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't have to come off. No Guts, No Glory.

Take a look in the Workshop manual (you can get it from internet) under the section Body & Paint 501.02: Front End Body panels. All the procedure is there. Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Are you trying to remove the whole outer wing or just the outer wing skin ?
If the former then it's normally a lot easier to just remove the whole wing, inner and outer in a single lump. The inner wing is held onto the chassis in very few places compared to how many bolts hold the inner wing to the outer. If it's just the outer side wing skin you're removing then it's usually just a case of finding the correct size/combination of ratchet extensions. The bolts holding the wing skin to the bulkhead are easiest to get to through the gap left when you remove the wheel arch flare, again using a combination of extension bars on a ratchet. Some of those bolts (all but the top one IIRC) have slotted holes so only need to be loosened a few turns. The plastic heater duct that goes from the top of the wing to the heater intake can be removed giving easier access. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Just the wing skin, if I could figure out how to get the heater duct out as you mention above i'd be sorted as that is blocking the last 3 bolts but I can't figure out how to get it to budge. I can't see where it is fixed down...
Thanks Steve, i've got cobs instructions but i'm going for the other wind where mobile centre install them and the heater duct isn't a problem, still great write up though I'm going to head back out the garage and hope it will have all become clear overnight! |

Can't really offer any constructive advice on the nearside wing but initially I did go through the same thought process on the offside and eventually concluded that the only way was to bite the bullet and take the inner wing off as well. Key thing is not to do it if you're in a hurry, patience, plenty of tea and long extension bars for the sockets.

Solved, and I have to admit it probably should have been obvious
Where the air intake is for the heater there are two screws that hold the air ducting to the wing, however, if you have chequer plate on the wings you may need to remove this to reveal the screws Once the screw are removed the air ducting can the pushed to one side revealing just enough room to squeeze a hand in with a ratchet spanner and undo the last 3 bolts... Thanks for various suggestions Click image to enlarge |

It's not really fixed down as such. If you remove the grill on the top of the wing, underneath the grill there are 2 screws that fix the duct to the underside of the wing that are covered by te grill. Undo those and it should come loose. After that you'll have to remove the wing support/strengthening bracket that goes from the outer to inner wing and it's just a case of manoeuvring the duct out. It's a bit of a PITA but it will come out. If you have aircon that will make the job more difficult and you may find that just loosening it allows you to get enough access without removing it - being able to get your hand in through the top of the wing makes life a lot easier in itself. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

I was hoping someone would come up with an easy option for doing this job as someone ran into the front of my 110 the other week so I've decided to put both outer skins on. Could the OP post up any insights when he's finished the job please.
Cheers Ray |

While it's apart, why not fit a BBUS for the alarm (unless there's already on tucked away behind the plate)?
