Help please - getting the air filter box off Puma
I admit, if there was an "idiot" section, I would post this there Whistle

Please can someone tell me how to take out the lower air filter housing. I can see rubber mounts but I can't see how it's fixed/bolted in. I've looked in the manual but there's just a sketch with some bolt heads that I can't identify Embarassed

Many thanks for any advice.

Cheers

It appears to be a pain in the bum to remove, I looked at this last week when replacing the shocks (because the screw on the RHS turret cover is hidden by the airbox)...Can I ask why you want it off? Just in case you want access to the right-hand shock turret cover??? Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Little experiment - comparing how the intake air temperature varies when moving and stationary between taking air from the side intake and taking it from the engine compartment. Can only get the plastic intake pipe out with air filter box removed (I hope I can - it's bloody tight in there).

Unfortunately Scangauge takes its reading from the MAF and I would have liked it downstream of the intercooler but beggars and all that...

Good to know it's how to get to the turret cover as well Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Sounds like a fun project!

It's worth relocating the turret cover screw whilst the airbox is off...just in case you want to change the Shocks in future, you won't need to worry about fighting with teh airbox again Thumbs Up Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
