Cylinder head weep
I am removing exhaust manifold to skim and fitting new studs and I see just between the two middle outlets a plug with a hex socket that is weeping coolant, does anyone know whether this is a core plug or some thing more sinister and why does it appear to have a socket fitting,I am hoping that it is just a type of core plug that I can remove and reseal, any help would be appreciated

Sounds like it is a core plug if it is between cylinders 3 and 4.

Remove it, clean it all up and replace with a new one.

Here is a picture of a TD5 core plug
