I would be interested in this as well for my 110 TD5, I did have the mad thought of having warm air ducted into the rear section as well as the rear seats. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I was thinking of raising the cubby box 25 mm and creating a duct from front to back and sink a fan which would have to sit in the floor of the cubby box . May be able to extend duct closer to the dash, but trying to see what I could find to fit without it looking very after market .
Could heat up some PVC down pipe and press it into a flatter shape and heat weld the rest to create a scoop Any ideas ? 2023 110 Xs commercial D250 2005 D3 HSE (green lane toy) 1983 westwood gazelle 11HP still going strong |

Great idea but there isn't enough heat in the front of mine so i'd likely be moving cold air around!

done some thinking about this earlier also
Even with the airtop under the back seats it takes a while to get temps up in the low area's. probably as hot air moves upwards Another way to look at this is that there is no need to direct hot air to the back, it is sufficient to circulate the cold air and mix it with the hot air to evenly warm up the whole interior.(although this will slow down the process) So some hidden ventilators sucking in from passenger foot area and disposing it in the front footwell works just fine. This is a natural process happening anyway (but very slowly so inefficient) if you turn on the heater/ventilaton you will feel cold air dropping in the front footwell from under the front seats (no its not the non sealed battery box venting as this is also noticeable when stationary). Recirculation the cabin air works quicker as you suck in from passenger footwell but things get condensed quickly in wet weather. 2cents |
