LR warranty £672
Just got a quote from Warranty Direct - £540 for Independent or £707 for Franchised dealer.

what a rip off.......

Look at it this way.

A main dealer wash, valet and polish is worth £40, so assuming it will be in there 6 times a year it's worth the premium in cost for a very clean car Laughing

Personally I wouldn't bother if you're mechanically minded. The risk you have is an engine management down load cost if that has a problem and I'd guess a clutch.
When you compare the Defender even the XS model there is relatively little on them and it is that so well supported with after market modifications and accessories that you'd be spoilt for choice with alternative suppliers that are more cost effective.

So its a no for me, Darren

What I was told by my LR dealer, was that LR tell them what to charge per hour & how long each job should take on average. Any thing needing fixing will obviously charged at the hourly rate the dealers have to ask.

This is a general concessionaire rule, not just used by LR. Exclamation Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

I asked the service lady in my local main stealers about this - she said its a waste of money. Its also a gamble really I suppose.....

Just bought 4th year warranty from Rocar so I presume you use Copley. Surprised she was negative towards the warranty as she gets commission on the sale. Warranty direct sales pitch is that they cover wear and tear items but the small print states not inc first 90 days and some items inc on LR warranty are not covered.
I buy LR warranty for our 8 year old D3 and it always more than pays for itself Thumbs Up
