Battery mega fuse...Do i need it???

Chaps,

Bit of advise.....ive just bought a Devon 4x4 tray to fit my red and yellow optimas in and guess what....they dont bloody fit because the terminals further inward than the original battery position

The mega fuse on the battery stops it fitting my optimas so can i loose it and change the main wiring for standard type connectors or will it affect warrenty if i start changing things to radically?
