Hi Matt,

Does this box use the same fixing positions as the original blanked off grill? If so, would it not fit over the top of chequer plate like I've done with my grill here:

A spongy foam gasket could be used to take up the 'bumps' of the chequer surface.

On a different tack, given that you've obviously got access to metalwork fabricators, is there scope for an improved 'FCX' version? Darren

Hi LRA,

It's not the top that's an issue, it's the 'body' of the box wont fit through the hole in the chequerplate if that makes sense.

I did think about producing an FCX version (and I believe I could do it cheaper) however I'd rather not 'rip off' other peoples ideas as such however if I come up with something that serves the same purpose but is approached from a different viewpoint then you guys will be the first to know Thumbs Up

Ah, I see what you mean. S'funny - most chequer plate I've seen is like mine with the notable exception of the Entreq ones. I wonder if the GMB box was designed with that in mind?

I was quite interested in one of these boxes but not if I have to start hacking the chequer plate around. If there was an alternative available that overcame the problem (and was cheaper!) then it would be very appealing... Whistle Darren

I agree, all of the chequerplate I had access to yesterday was exactly the same Confused

I'm sorry to 'quash' a sale for Mud but glad to have saved you the disappointment of not being able to fit easily Thumbs Up

I looked at those but I've already got the Anderson set up on other vehicles and it's handy to be able to swap leads about - I also read somewhere that the Military set up shown suffers a lot from corrosion ....

TBH

GMB Locker would look better with chequer plate that fits around it rather than under it as IMHO it sits too high and looks odd.

I'm afraid I have to agree, I am quite disappointed, another 'issue' is that when the rubber lock cover is fitted this effectively moves the lock up and therefore makes it really hard to engage Confused

Its the 'Checktime' unit from Mobile Centre, supplys internal and external temperature and consequently turns airconditioning into a type of climate control
