A D2 ECU will work in any Defender td5. Just that some things (e.g. fuel gauge) won't be right, but the engine will run.
Injector codes are not too important. Even if incorrect, the engine will run fine. I suggest the issue is with the security re-learn as you stated. |

Got it running. Had a bad earth on the battery, which although was showing 12 or so volts, it had no current to it. and a fuse missing for the immobiliser (the fusebox behind the gearstick)
