Rear chequer above cross member?
Hi

I have a TD5 90 pick up and have damaged the bodywork on end of the rear load area, just above the rear cross member (visible when tailgate is closed). and idealy would like a "bolt-on" chequer plate to cover it.

Plates are available for the rear tub and for the rear cross member but I can't find anthing that would go between the two of then i.e. above the top of the cross member and the back-end of the rear tub/under the tailgate. Any suggestions or suppliers would be much appreciated

I don't know of any suppliers but why not get a piece of Ali chequer plate and cut it to shape? Easy to do with basic tools. Alternatively, get a piece of flat ali plate, cut to shape again and then paint it to match so it blends in?

Whatever you do, don't put chequer plate on the rear cross member. Apart from concealing corrosion, as a dissimilar metal it can actually make it worse, except you won't be able to see it until it's too late. Plus it looks a bit naff but that's just MHO Laughing

Oh, and welcome to the forum Thumbs Up Darren
