Guy Salmon Bristol
Just had the first service done on my 90XS by the above

Great service, was ready 2 hours early, seat belt bolt recall done automatically.

The guy that actually did the service even came out to tell me what he had done, what he had checked etc etc

And all with friendly service from all concerned

Very pleased

Thr service and warranty work done by their Gatwick branch would have been laughable if I hadn't been so annoyed.
Fortunately that branch has been taken over by another company.
Shows how they can differ.

United Kingdom 2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Zermatt Silver
2011 - 12,000 service at Guy Salmon was £309
2012 - 24,000 was £558
2013 - 36,000 was £450

The 2013 service included a fiver for screen wash, which I know was filled up the week before it was serviced. (When our other vehicle was serviced at MJ Fews we were also charged for screen wash, but they left a 1/2 full bottle in the car, firstly to "prove" they had topped it up, and secondly to leave us the other half to use in the future, after all we paid for it!)

I would imagine that Steve Hill would be better value for money, and his cars are well cared for.

Cheers

Steve Hill for me too, since he did the last service on my 90 it's been running like a dream. Mr. Green Had rear diff pinion oil seal replaced last year though and now it's leaking again. Sad (Not that I am saying it's anyone's fault)! KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

My 110 went into GS Bristol today for 6 jobs, some warranty, some for parts to be fitted that should of been done before delivery. Only 1 job was done to my satisfaction. Booked back in at the beginning of January now.
not the sort of service I expected.

As for Steve Hill, I called them last year to do some work on my D3. The rudeness of the receptionist was enough to put me off. I'll not bother with him again purely on that basis 110 D250 SE HT

Walfy - I know what you mean but that is his wife, I just find her a little loud.
MJ Fews was good when I've been there.
In my opinion you can't beat Matford Exeter but far to far for us to go really unless it's a one off. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

Then there is no excuse, his wife is costing him business. I only live about 3 miles from his workshop.

Is she a blonde lady? If so I think I know who you mean...
Had the handbrake recall done at Fews that was good. Sadly when I called about a service the price was too much and wanted more for brake fluid change. Attitude from the service department was a little that's the way it is upto you.
I guess attitude varies according mood. Rolling Eyes KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

Heading here to Guy Salmon, Bristol in a couple of weeks for servicing.
Very helpful, efficient and timely on the phone.
Even offered me chauffeured transport because I wanted an earlier date than a courtesy vehicle was available.

£622 or £418 from main dealer, my rear diff oil seal started leaking again only after a month or two of being fixed and prices always seem high.
So I just checked Guy Salmon's prices and they are reasonable and just down the road, gave me a very rapid call back and pleasant and helpful so went for it.
Dealer price vs. theirs doesn't include brake fluid change but I was categorically told it was and is not required on this service.
