any thoughts on using wd40 rather than dinitrol or wax oil?
granted you'd need to use it regular but I've been using it regularly on the rear x member and it looks like new. it would appear to be one of the few items that hasnt rusted? any it looks shiny what do you reckon? |

I used to use it on my motorbike frame for the reasons you mention.
It does however appear to attract dust & grime to settle. Recently I've been using ACF-50, and it does seem to be a lot better (it certainly gets better reviews on here... In liquid form (as with WD40) it works out a lot cheaper, and you can apply it better (or use the spray that comes with): Click image to enlarge But at this time of year (they've started winter salting on the roads near me), I give my underside a good squirt of the cheaper Scottoiler ACF to neutralise the effects of road salt... http://www.scottoiler.com/us/Lubes-Cleaner...e.tpl.html Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
