de-cat pipe / straight through exhaust
Has anyone tried or runs a de-cat pipe on there puma, thinking about a straight through exhaust for a tastier engine note!! dont really think it will have any major effects on performance. and i know that ive got to take the crossmember out to change it.

what are your thoughts????? should it stay or should it go??

i was under the impression - think i read it on here, that the turbo needs some back pressure from box(es) or Cat to run at optimum.

i am also thinking of a straight through system Cheers

I removed the centre box, that gives a deeper note. I have removed the decat on the utility but found no improvement. I think that the engine/turbo requires a bit of resistance in the exhaust to get the turbo to work properly. It needs some back pressure type thing.

Andrew - was that centre box and cat removed on the utility or cat on the utility and box on the SW? Cheers

This one was prepared by Twisted Performance, and as far as I know uses their Tornado exhaust. Soon as my warranty runs out I'm fitting one to mine. Peter

We've got the Twisted Perormance de-cat system on the 110 dcpu and that sounds great especially with the re-map Smile I've also recentlly fitted the Twisted system to the SVX but I've only been a couple of miles since but it seems louder and a little nippier but not really tested. Also air filter and re-map soon Thumbs Up Formerly mao99999

I have the BAS de-cat and middle box removal, it is a touch loud, especially with the BAS tune. One thing Pete did say though, was "Turbo diesels don't need back pressure, only petrols"

I recently had the software updated on my 90 and when Pete re-mapped it again the noise was notably louder.

Would I de-cat it again? Yes
Would I remove the middle box? Only if Pete made a smaller one!

The noise is chuffing loud on long journeys! PM Pete, I am sure he was working on a smaller middle box, for an improved, but not really loud sound.

Both standard exit but the 90s is a slightly larger tail pipe Wink Formerly mao99999
