You can never go far wrong with anything from Tamia, or if dad wants a toy go for the methanol engine powered Mardave Maurauder ! If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Tamiya's rock. They're really well engineered and you can get spares for models going back to the 80's. You won't get one for £100 but Wild Willy is well worth considering for a six year old. We've got one of each (Wild Willy and a six year old) and he's not managed to do too much damage to it in 18 months.

I can highly recommend Traxxas, they are high quality, and you can customise / tinker to no end. probably on the expensive end, but well worth it!

I don't know anything about rc cars so probably not the best persons post to read, but I saw a rc defender in Maplins which looked quite cool and there are some you tube vids (some links on here somewhere) of really smart looking mini sized rc defenders, might be a bit specialised for a 6 yr old but daddy can have one as well can't he? Now there's a space in the garage. Very Happy

Thanks for the tips. Something like this might be OK and it's cheaper at £75 Very Happy

Bear in mind that you'll need to buy the RC gear, batteries and charger, too. The bottom of that page shows a combined price of just over £150. Darren

Make sure it's been rustproofed - some of the pain may have been applied over bare plastic.

Do a search on here for threads on how to rustproof properly and good luck Thumbs Up John

Being the father of four children (who have all been 6 years old at some point Rolling Eyes ) in a 'bah humbug' sort of way, I'd be inclined to get something a lot cheaper because he'll either break it or get bored with it at that age ....
