Are you running hub-centric wheel spacers, or the flat fronted type?

As you are running alloys, then you should be using hub-centric spacers - the type with the lip on the front of the spacer - rather than plain ones.

Land Rover alloy wheels do not centre on the wheel nuts as per a LR steel wheel, but instead use the centre of the hub for location. If you use plain fronted wheel spacers with an alloy wheel, the chances of getting the wheel 100% central is very slim.. and if not central you will get a wheel wobble as if wheels are out of balance.

Plain fronted wheel spacers are fine with steel wheels - the tapered wheel nut allows the wheel to centralise... but no good with alloys!

I've had a customer with exactly the same problem - once I'd fitted a set of proper spacers, problem went away.

Thanks Porny, that is the route of the problem - I am sure. For the moment they are off my Landy so problem gone away. Put them on ebay - maybe someone with steel wheels will be better with them. 110 Hard top

I have a pair of these spacers (without the lip) and also got wheel wobble.

Eventhough the alloy nuts neatly fit perfectly into the wheel, there is a little slack which i agree could cause a mis-alignment.

I found a guy who will machine up a set of hub-centric spacers for me (£80.00 full set) but needs the correct dimensions. Would anybody know the dimensions required on the form below. If not Ill have to subside my laziness and pull the wheel off and measure.

Well I ordered another set with the locating rim - hub-centric Rolling with laughter

I know some people will never learn Embarassed

Going to fit them when I can, I really much prefer the look of my Landy with them and they drive better - wobble aside of course.

Will keep you posted Shocked 110 Hard top

I too am having trouble balancing with Modular brasialian iron wheels and tires 255/85 R16 BF MUD.
Try and try you can not have a perfect setting.
The offset takes me into the tire outside the fender line, so not too much but that flared with the originals.
