I don't think I'll be getting any of them in a hurry then I'd have run out of patience on paragraph one and looked them into the hedge, good on you for keeping at it though. I'll bet it looks smart now you have done it , pics when you can.
There do seem to be some overlap between 11 and 12 model years, like mine has the fuel filler leash (that's how I can tell em apart said my salesman - that theory went out the window when mine turned up from LR) and also my door strips are painted body colour and seen a 90 of same year with a galvanised? Metal door strip - I believe I have the chubbier 12my years seats as well, but not compared any earlier ones. Like the left hand side better and it's doing "more" of what you bought them to do on that side.
Does sound like it was a right faff though, so will probably be giving it a miss on mine. Thanks for sharing in full detail. Really useful post for others. |

Hi. I started to install the door strips but ran into a few questions
- does the plastic washer go in the inside or the outside of the truck? I was thinking outside to protect the aluminum from the stainless but... I don't know - where does the rubber gusset go? On the inside or outside seem? - where does the compression band go? On the inside lip or outside lip? Do you have any pics of the strips installed? |

With any aftermarket gear getting it to fit with other aftermarket gear can be fraught with issues. Then we have the famous Land Rover build quality to contend with.
Land Rover has changed the design of the door seals as well. Also Entreq has changed what comes with the door strips as well. If your vehicle has the post autumn 2011 seals fitted to the bottom of the actual door then you do not need the supplied rubber gasket. This rubber gasket fits on the bottom of the door strip as in the photo below Click image to enlarge If your vehicle is fitted with the latter design door sill I would use compression tape behind the vertical face of the door strip to slow down water/dirt ingress behind the strip The compression tape can also be used under the strip inside the vehicle to take out any irregularities in levels. Plastic washers can be used as spacers underneath (fiddly) strip or on top under the stainless washers. Use a bit of paste on the fixings as well Have fitted them to the white 90 without any major issues. i was going to make door strips like this, i was gonna use chequer plate but they look fantastic . although im yet to see the cost, as with most shiney additions for the defender they are a little pricey Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

I'm interested in the metal work behind your LH seat. It looks like it is galvanised. Mine is just black paint. Is this another change LR has made, or is it a case of "fit what we have to get it out" ? BTW mine is MY07.

Hi Merlin I have just spotted your post. I think you must mean my photos? The metal work isn't galvanised but is "body Colour" in my case Zermatt Silver. It is one of the last 2.4s, a 2012 car but MY11
