It's nice but possibly the TD5 I viewed today has won me over 1951 80" S1 2.0

I took a walk around Brightwells 4x4 auction yesterday, there was a 90 on an 02 plate recently tarted up, Puma bonnet etc for £5000. A nice 08 110 staion wagon, basic spec, manual window winders no carpets and so on but with air con and the LR forward facing rear seats and 22590miles on the clock and hammer fell at £15,400. If I had the money I would have bought that, was in the right colour as well......Keswick Green! There were a few 90's truck cabs on 08 plates struggling to get over £9000. What a way to make money, buy a truck cab and put a hard top with CSW sides on and chuck a couple of seats in and pass it on! Oh sorry Nene got there first

JWL - do you have to pay vat and/or buyers premium ontop of those prices, out of interest?

Some are plus VAT, not all and there is a buyers premium which I can't remember for the life of me how much. Take a look at their website, put Brightwells in your fravourite search doobrey and the site gives past sales with hammer prices and explains all about premiums etc. There is also a buy it now page where you can bid on motors that didn't reach their reserve and will often sell for less than the "screen price"
There was a TD5 130 ex utility double cab with a quad tech box but I didn't see if it went through the sale and it was quite tidy complete with a full length Brownchurch rack on, I've so got to win the lottery |

cheers JWL
I have been to the MOD sales at Ashton Down near Stroud and that was all +vat (as you would expect); can't remember a buyers premium on that (but this was back in the late 90's) |

The price has been lowered to £14895...........when I talked with him last week he wouldn't entertain anything less than £15000 1951 80" S1 2.0

Is it just me who has a suspious mind?
A 18 year old Defender with 28,500 miles on the clock?. That is about 30 miles per week. Also a very early 300 TDi engine? New doors and new chassis? One thing I would want to see is ALL the MOT certificates going back to 97 to prove that mileage. Brendan |

Hi Brendan,
Glad to put a name to a face at Billing! Sorry we pushed off but the 4 rug rats spotted the ice cream van! It's had a total re build and cheek but the guy zero'd the miles when he finished it. Engine total re build but again I'd rather have the correct miles 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |
