hi pumaxs,
i purchased a pair of forged jate rings from the bristol and west show (can't remember the trader) and there was no mention that they were for a specific model; and they bolted up just fine. try one of the forum sponsors - it keeps this site running |

Jate rings are good. However when you are up to the axle etc in mud how do you reach the Jate rings? Recovery eyes on steering guard or already mounted on bumpers etc are Alternatively consider Sits on top of a bumper. Good advice.
In fairness the 110 is just my spaniel taxi/fishing + shooting brake. I'm not an out & out mud plugger, but theres no point in getting wet & muddy for the sake of it! I assume that the bumper top shackle points are a straightforward fitment - No drilling or dismantling half of the vehicle? In which case, how much do they cost & how soon can you send them? You have to drill two holes in the bumper but other than that it's straightforward.
Think the answer to how soon can you send them will be Monday - unless he has buried them in the bowels of the trailer which is in the process of getting packed for Billing. The other alternative is if you are going to Billing you could get them there and save the shipping costs. Barbara |

Our normal price for a pair of recovery eyes will be £79, to forum members £75. Am not sure how much they will cost to send out as have not weighed them yet, would imagine about £6-8 via post office.
As Barbara says two holes need drilling in bumper per eye. Quick and easy to attach to these eyes. Using a bridle and attach recovery rope/strap without use of hard shackle is Alternatives are the the Equipe swivel recovery eyes which is a saddle wrapped around the bumper but a big hole ( sorry can not remember hole diameter) needs cutting for the swivel. Barbara/Brendan,
I assume that you are not one and the same - But you never know nowadays!! Thanks for taking the time to reply. I must admit that I still have an aversion to drilling holes at this stage, but will give it some more thought. My original questions regarding Jate rings still stand, so any help & advice is welcome. '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci |

I assure you that Barbara and I (Brendan) are two different people. Barbara ais the intelligent, pretty one who bakes good cakes. I am the ugly one who shifts boxes from A to B and back to A again.
