Anyone got a Ring RAC900 heavy duty tyre compressor? Been meaning to get something like this for a while now, so ive taken the plunge and ordered one from Amazon. Need it mainly for incase I need to top up the caravan tyres when on holiday.

yes, have the double head version.
nothing more than a standard quality chinese made small compressor. sold under various brand names with prices ranging from 50 to 200. so find the cheapest and be happy. mine charges a 15liter vessel and runs ok although - i limited the pressure to 6bar as it gets hot quickly - they are not fast, don't expect anything close to a normal compressor, but faster than the 10 pound things - respecting the duty cycle is the only thing what will give them an acceptable lifetime. to my opinion not a bad choice as anything else what is more than marginally better costs tenfold and is pro-stuff which i don't need. (and then i am not talking warn and other overpriced stuff but real heavy duty 12vdc service compressors) if it is for occasional low duty or emergency repair you will be fine. if you plan on airing down regularly and need something to pump up quickly and to rely on go to your welding shop for a bottle of CO2 and a pressure regulator and be set for less and longer. another alternative is a suspension compressor from the LR scrapyard (or other brand) these are better made than this one. 2 cents only |
