Now my silver chequer plate is black the headlight surrounds and grill look wrong. What would be the best paint to use to spray them black? Any protective top coats required?

I have used Plastikote on my window catches and Patriot roof rack mounts. With the undercoat applied it is easy to apply and you can apply several coats in a short amount of time. It is in my opinion very good and will be more than suitable for the use you have planned for it.

For not much more than the cost of those paints you can buy, again via eBay, a brand new grill and headlight surounds that are already black. Would save a lot of faffing around. Darren

That's true. In fact probably just as cheap. Full set new for £40 it seems.
