I may end up having to get rid of my D3, and this will leave me with a 90 TD5 CSW to tow my Elddis Crusader Scirroco. Its a 23 ft, twin axle. I know a 110 is a great tow car, but how will the 90 fair? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

The 90 loses out slightly on weight to the 110 and is slightly less stable in itself.
That said, the 90 has the tow point much closer to the rear axle so is much less likely to snake than a 110 and is less twitchy when manoeuvring. A friend of mine works as a contractor with his own plant and used to regularly tow very heavy, large loads with his 90 (probably illegally large and heavy in some cases) and said he preferred the 90 as a towing platform because the short overhang meant that the trailer couldn't move the back end of the 90 around like it did with his 110 and his Toyota (both of which were longer and heavier vehicles). Personally I've never had a problem towing our van with our 90 and whilst I needed a stabiliser when towing with our old classic Range Rover I've never needed one with the 90. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Having towed with both a 90 & 110, the 110 is much more stable and its much less sensitive to trailer nose weight / balance.
The 110 TD5 when running a standard fuel map was not great - but since remapping its fantastic! With a 90 I would recommend one of the anti-snake thingys. It totally transformed towing with my 90 following a few scary incidents. I would also recommend a remap. With both, it will be brilliant! Si |

I have exactly the same caravan. Towed it with my re-mapped 110 TD5, no problems
 Towed it short distances with un-mapped TD5 no probs. Since replaced the 110 with Puma and did the http://www.whattowcar.com/ match  |
