I've also been down the road of collecting Td5 parts for mine - wasn't easy, took time waiting for things we need to come on on ebay / forums / keeping ear to the ground locally. I think we got most stuff within about 6 months of starting to plan the project. Some bits needed a bit of work in prep before painting, other bits were in good nick. Might have got lucky I guess, but it is do-able. Gotta say though it would be much harder to do for a late model TDCI as they haven't been around as long and are parts are therefore that much more expensive. We'd like to do another one someday - a 110 Station Wagon, but decent bits for those seem to be like rocking horse do-do compared to sourcing 90 bits! So I can see why people might be suspicious to some extent but still, innocent til proven guilty and all that. i'd say..having done the 110 build parts list a 110 easier than a 90! the only parts that are in short supply are the B pillars and the second row doors. roofs, rear doors etc are cheap enough and in all honesty better to buy new. By the time you cost it all up i could of bought a puma....so i did! yes i'll give the beneifit of the doubt but there are a few suspect parts on ebay at the mo. Moneys tight out there |

Haven't bought a brand new car since 1989 and haven't borrowed to buy a car since 1992. On our Defenders we add bits and refurb as and when we want, with cash. The value in the vehicles isn't in the re-sale value but in what they provide us with - fun, lifestyle, utility, etc. We might not have the shiniest and most up to date models, but we know their complete history and they are custom built for purpose - unlike a new vehicle which is expensive, probably lots of faults to fix, huge depreciation , etc
Next big issue is what to replace the P38 with - it is 12 years old and starting to show its age. That's where the 110 project might come in! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

agreed Pam...first car i've ever had on finance...just works right for me and my business. i prefer an older car...not so worried about damage, leaving it any where etc but with kids, a busy bworkload etc i need a relaible motor thats covered if theres an issue. PLUS i wanted a late 2.4 110 as i do plan to keep it alot longer than i usually keep cars. He's probably worked out he's blown his brains on the 110, and its horrible to drive etc! will be a good buy IF the parts can be id'd as genuine with receipts etc |

Anybody actually asked the seller if they have receipts for the chassis works and Puma parts?
Doesn't seem much wrong with the rebuild to me, providing there's some trace-ability on the parts. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |
