Any known history of this?
Hi.... my 2007 90 XS has had a singing rear diff since i bought it new in September 2007 and has done 8.000m now.. At the time i was told to "let it develop"!! I use it close to home very rarely going more than 60m round trip but the other day i did a 200m run and the noise is really quite obtrusive with a very mechanical singing noise and a smell of hot gear oil from the rear when idle... It goes into Morrisons next week for a check, is there any issues with the rear axle??
Thanks.

Ive done 38k with the original diff (early 07 model) and other tranmission parts, I've had a rear pinion seal changed though.
