Does the front LH sidelight work?

they're fused per side, so LH tail & side, and RH tail & side.

could just be the fuse (Fuse 11, 10amp in the fusebox behind the gearstick)

K109 is header C0288, which is right behind the center of the dashboard, here:

If you look at the circuit diagram below, you'll see fuse 11 with the red/black wire (fusebox junction C0581-2) feeding up to the header (arrowed in purple) and feeding off to two more red/black wires ("A" and "D".... A being the feed to the LH tail light & numberplate light, and D going to the front side light)

Hmmm... you could try (before ripping the dash apart) and see if there is a 12v feed at the plug under the bonnet, kind of behind and under the air filter, that feeds the read chassis wiring loom.

There's 2 plugs on it (orange and white I think), not sure which plug feeds the lights but i'm sure the red/black wire will be in there. that way you can eliminate either the "dash" end, or the "chassis/rear end"... could be a break in the wire near the light unit

Have you checked the earth for the tail light?

Cool, did you run in a new cable, or find & mend the break?
